Activity

Kharkiv branch of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona” conducts a unified scientific and technical policy on the protection of soil fertility in the region, rational use and environmental safety of land, state monitoring of agricultural soils in order to identify and generalize trends and the nature of changes in soil fertility indicators.

Kharkiv branch of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona” annually carries out work on agrochemical certification of agricultural land, provides certificates on the state of soil fertility, produces cartographic material.

Design and estimate documentation for chemical reclamation of saline soils is developed, plant and soil diagnostics are carried out, based on the results of which calculations of the need for mineral fertilizers for the planned harvest and recommendations for their use are provided.

The branch closely cooperates with the Center for scientific support of the AIP and with the Main Department of agro industrial development of the regional state administration and performs the following works for this purpose:

collecting and summarizing information on the use of mineral and organic fertilizers;

calculation of the need for mineral and organic fertilizers by periods of their application for agricultural crops;

calculation of the balance of nutrients and humus in agriculture of the region;

calculation of the payback of mineral fertilizers by crop yields;

soil and plant diagnostics of mineral nutrition of winter crops;

generalization of agrochemical indicators of soil fertility by rounds of agrochemical surveys.

The laboratory of monitoring and agrochemical certification of land conducts field studies of soils.

The laboratory of analytical support for agrochemical research determines the content of mobile forms of phosphorus, exchange potassium, humus, easily hydrolyzed nitrogen and the degree of soil acidity.

The laboratory of ecological safety of land, environment and product quality analyzes soils, plants and water for the content of trace elements and residual amounts of pesticides and heavy metals.

The laboratory of geoinformation systems, information processing and experimental research performs information support for agrochemical certification of land plots, which are concentrated in the database, which reflects the agrochemical characteristics of the surveyed lands by main indicators.

The laboratory of land management, mapping and land assessment makes cartograms based on field studies for the content of humus, mobile forms of phosphorus, exchange potassium and soil acidity.
