Specialists of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona” took part in the meeting of the NAAS Presidium
Today, on February 9, Yuriy Zaytsev, General Director of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona”, first deputy general director Sergiy Shapran, deputy general director for scientific activities Svitlana Romanova and scientific secretary Olena Gryshchenko took part in a meeting of the NAAS Presidium, where the report of the director of the National Research Center “Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS” corresponding member of the NAAS M. A. Tkachenko “Scientific foundations of soil resource management in agricultural systems based on the principles of sustainable development” was heard and discussed.
The Presidium of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine noted the relevance of the issue raised in connection with the urgent need to ensure the rational use of Soil Resources, which are one of the integral elements of sustainable agricultural development, as well as serve as an important tool for preventing negative climate change and preserving biodiversity.
The management of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona” noted the undoubted relevance and timeliness of the chosen research problems.
in modern economic conditions, characterized by a certain lack of reliable state control over the nature of land use and compliance with the relevant legislative framework, trends in consumer attitude to land are increasing, and in agricultural production — the pursuit of short-term economic interests and ignoring environmental requirements. Consequently, intensive agricultural use of land leads to a decrease (deterioration) of soil fertility.
Monitoring data of land resources of Ukraine confirm that degradation processes are increasing throughout the territory, soils are noticeably impoverished and are losing their quality and productive indicators. Therefore, we can say that the modern use of land resources does not meet the requirements of their rational use.
Despite the importance and severity of the problem and numerous developments of leading scientists on ways of rational use and protection of land resources, the solution to this problem has not yet been fully achieved, but on the contrary, the level of use of land resources and their ecological state is deteriorating.
Given the unsatisfactory use of land resources, the problem of Rational Use and protection of land is of particular importance. It is extremely important to develop measures for Sustainable Land Management, since the existing management system in Ukraine is not sufficiently balanced and does not ensure the preservation of soil fertility.
