Specialists of the SI  “Derzhgruntokhorona” took part in the online information event “German experience in institutional organization and financing of agricultural land reclamation – options for Ukraine”

Today, on February 22, an online information event was held on the topic “German experience in the institutional organization and financing of agricultural land reclamation-options for Ukraine”. The organizer is the German-Ukrainian agropolitical dialogue.

The event was attended by international experts, representatives of Ukrainian agricultural policy, business, science, local self-government bodies and specialists of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona”.

Frank Muller, agricultural attache at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine, delivered a welcoming speech.

German expert Klaus Westendorff presented in his report current measures for land irrigation in the Federal Republic of Germany and legislative regulations.

Oksana Dekhtyar, head of the land reclamation and Irrigation Department of the Agricultural Resources Regulation Department of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, made a report on “Current approaches to the formation of state policy in the field of irrigation in agriculture of Ukraine”.

The event presented and discussed Germany’s experience in organizing and financing agricultural land reclamation, on the basis of which conclusions were drawn about opportunities in Ukraine, as well as on providing advice from the APD.

As part of the implementation of the association agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the agricultural sector in Ukraine continues to undergo a comprehensive course of reforms, in particular on the sustainable development of industrial and social infrastructure in rural areas, improving the competitiveness of agricultural production, improving the quality and safety of agricultural products, as well as preserving natural resources.

Agricultural land reclamation measures contribute to the stabilization and increase of agricultural yields. In times of climate change, they are increasingly becoming a prerequisite for sufficient provision of agricultural products to the population and economy.
