Meeting with the heads of branches of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona”
Today, on February 10, a meeting was held with the heads of branches of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona” under the chairmanship of General Director Yuriy Zaytsev.
The meeting considered the issues of updating laboratories, improving the efficiency of branches of the SI “Derzhgruntokhorona”, developing scientific activities and international scientific cooperation.
The main theses that were raised during the discussion:
– by updating laboratory and applied equipment, introduce modern technologies in agrochemical research and forecasting the development of soil processes. Based on laboratory research data, help reduce the cost of growing agricultural products and increase the level of investment attractiveness and competitiveness of the country’s agricultural sector;
– improving the competitiveness and quality of agricultural production, through the use of scientific recommendations by agricultural producers to improve the quality of soil indicators for obtaining the planned harvest;
– вimplementation of scientific and methodological developments of the institution’s specialists in the field of soil science for the rational use of agricultural land and reducing the man-made load of the agricultural sector on the environment;
– expanding the range of applied scientific research, taking into account close cooperation with other research institutions of the state, as well as consolidating the intellectual potential of specialists of the Institute and other scientific institutions of agricultural profile;
– conducting continuous soil surveys of land in accordance with the decision of the NSDCU “On challenges and threats to the national security of Ukraine in the environmental sphere and priority measures to neutralize them”, put into effect by Presidential Decree No. 111-2021 of March 23 , 2021
– adoption at the state level of new laws on the protection of soil fertility with mandatory state monitoring of fertility indicators, development of a mechanism for encouraging farmers to conduct intensive farming.
The main means of increasing crop yields and improving the quality of crop production is the use of fertilizers. However, high efficiency is achieved only if their doses, terms and methods of application meet the biological requirements of plants, taking into account the degree of provision of soil nutrients. The Institute’s specialists have developed a set of measures aimed at increasing soil fertility through the correct use of organic and mineral fertilizers.
