International Field Day: “Innovations in agriculture in the south of Ukraine”

Specialists of the Kherson branch of the SI “Institute of soil protection of Ukraine”, head of the Department of monitoring and agrochemical certification of soils Viktor Shevchenko and head of the laboratory of GIS, information processing and experimental research Volodymyr Zhuzha, took part in the international field day, which was held on June 03, 2021 on the basis of the Institute of irrigated agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences.

Participants of the event were the chairman of the KRSA (Kharkiv Regional State Administration), the chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, local deputies, as well as the director of the Department of agricultural development and irrigation Margarita Stepanova, representatives of agricultural enterprises and farms of the region, and scientists and scientific and pedagogical workers of higher educational institutions of Ukraine.

Guests of the event got acquainted with the scientific achievements and practical developments of the Institute of irrigated agriculture and other institutions.

At the demonstration ground, the participants of the event were presented with the latest achievements of domestic and foreign breeding: winter wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, alfalfa, peas, oilseed flax, winter rapeseed, sunflower and their cultivation technologies.

The beginning of the event was marked by presentations by scientists of the Institute of irrigated agriculture of their scientific developments, innovative technologies and the results of production implementation of modern tools and information tools presented in the field.

Within the framework of the event, at the permanent regional training ground of the Institute, participants were presented with the achievements of leading breeding institutions of the Naas academic system (more than 500 plots), environmentally safe and modern agricultural technologies for growing grain, technical and niche crops grown under irrigation and non-irrigated lands.

In total, about 300 scientists and representatives of scientific and pedagogical institutions of higher education and farms of various forms of ownership, representing 10 different regions of Ukraine, took part in the field days.
